86/87 Honda TRX 250x wiring diagram

I recently purchased a 86/87 Honda TRX 250x. It has an electrical problem and I need a wiring diagram. The reason I say 86/87 because i have two different people telling me two different years. It's a 4 stroke with reverse. My fiance is the one fixing it but we can't go any further without the diagram and I have tried everywhere. If someone could email me and if you possibly know the year or how to tell what year that would be great. my email addy is singandello@hotmail.com. i need this ASAP! Also i found a diagram for a honda trx 250r .. is that the same thing???? FYI.. you can tell i dont know much.!

You can tell the year with the VIN number ..

On a 1987 TRX250X the first of the VIN numbers are : JH3TE1301HMxxxxxx .. H is 1987 .. This bike was Cosmic Gray /Passion Red
On a 1988 TRX250X the first of the VIN numbers are : JH3TE1300JKxxxxxx .. J is 1988 .. This bike was Shasta White /Passion Red
