Rumor of a Recon 4x4
#1
I read in a magazine that it's rumored Honda is going to introduce a Recon 250 4x4. Would this be as good a trail machine as a Rancher S 4x4 ? Seems to me that unless you would be turning 27" mud tires that 250cc's would be plenty of power and the Recon only weighs about 440lbs. I'm considering getting a new machine in the spring. I like most things about my Foreman 400 but it sure rides rough and after a days riding in rough, rocky country I feel pretty beat up. I don't ride too much in mud and most of my riding is hard pack and rocky/rut filled trails. A smaller, lighter machine might be exactly what I'm looking for. I guess when the time comes for a new machine I'll have to compare features and prices. Anyone know the top speed of a Recon 2wd ?
The magazine article I read gave the Recon 2wd a 5 star rating in almost all catagories. I've never ridden one but it looks like a great machine and a 4x4 version looks like it would fill a niche in the market for a reliable, lightweight, manueverable 4x4.

The Recon is a great quad. I've had my daughters up to about 42MPH, it seemed to be going faster but that's what the bike spedo said that I had on it. Not sure that a 4WD would be a good fit on the Recon considering that the 4WD would add any where from 50-75 lbs to the quad and that may be too much for only a 230cc engine.
