Default Rubicon overheating

was wondering if anyone had some insight for me. problem is the fan dosent come on ever. it used to before tranny was replaced but since then never. I've removed and tested it to be good, so was wondering two things...
1. what is the purpose of the "surgical" tube connected to the fan?
2. where would I locate the thermosensor on the rubicon?
any help is appreciated, maybe I'm not even close in my diagnostics so feel free to point me in the right direction, thanx
also since it's all apart now, thus easy access, I will be installing a manual overide switch as per Texmudders site, to help prevent future overheating, but still would like to have auto fan swith working.

Default Rubicon overheating

Hey I have had the same thing happen but listen up this is important. There are two sources of cooling on a Honda Rubicon the fan and the liquid but they work together so the first thing I would do is take the machine to a dealer get them to look at it if its still under warranty or do what I did and put in a fan switch so you have no problems when its hot turn it on when its cold turn it off.
