:hunts to come: elk, still waiting on drawing one,3 prefrence points so far, and a mule deer. Later on after them two, i would like to hunt big horn and moose, then move on to other big game. good luck this season everyone!! oh,and a coyote.
My primary deer rifle is a Kimber 84M Montana in .308 which is currently topped with a Leupold 3-9x33 VX-II Ultralight It's my primary rifle and I took nearly all my deer with it last year. Sweet, sweet rifle. I love it.
My heavy brush gun is a heavily modified Norinco MAK-90 topped with a forward mounted EO Tech 550 Holosight. Great brush gun that puts meat in the freezer every season.
If I'm hunting in a slug only state I use a Remington 11-87 with a fully rifled cantilevered scope mount barrel topped with a Leupold 3-9x40 Ultimate Slam slug scope.
My muzzleloader is a Savage Model 10MLSS-II topped with a Nikon 3-9x40 Omega Muzzleloader scope.
I have some changes on deck for next season.
I'm going to pull the Leupold from the my shotgun set-up since I rarely use it anymore and switch it over to the Savage Muzzleloader. I think I like the Leupold better than I do the Nikon. I want to try it on the Savage.
I have a itch for a 45/70 lever gun. I'm thinking of a marlin 1895G or maybe a 1895SBL. Something simple, probably no scope just ghost rings or tru glos or something. Something for heavy brush and maybe out to 300 but mostly under 150 yards or so.
I also keep telling myself to get a new primitive muzzleloader. I had a matched set of Austin & Halleck Select Mountain rifles one in flintlock and one in percussion but sold them. A&H went out of business and I have no clue who makes a good reproduction muzzleloader now.
I'm going to try to get a 30/06 or a .270 Savage put together for a loaner rifle for next year but I don't know if I'll get the job done or not. Too many other projects.
My primary rifle for Lg. game is a Ruger 300 Win. Mag.
Brush gun is a Marlin 1895 GS 45/70 Govt.
Pistol, Ruger Red hawk 44 mag.

Primary hunting gun: Ruger MKII stainless/synthetic chambered in 300 win mag with redington 3x9 scope. Love the way this rifle handles and shoots for me.
Backup to the primary: Browming BAR chambered in 300 win mag with Swavorski 3x9 scope. It was a gift and is too nice of a rifle/scope combo for me to drag around on the ATV.
Brush gun: Ithica 10ga pump shotgun with shortened barrel and extended mag. Nothing says stop go away like a 10ga slug!
If all else fails, Springfield Armory stainless steel 1911 Trophy Match chambered in 45acp
I almost always carry 2 of the 3 into the woods with me and quite often all 3. You just never know what you need. A Nimrod day pack with a rifle scabbard make it easy to carry one rife and the shotgun in the scabbard or switch. Pistil is in a tactical holster on my leg.
