Can you let me know how you are making out with the doors on the companion 500, as you recall I have a Spartan 500 that is the same model.

Default Did you ever build the doors?

I am now using conduit to mock up doors...I'll cover them with the thin metal diamond plate. I would buy another.[/quote]

Did you ever build the doors? Can you please send pictures? Thanks.

Default Mods to Spartan 500cc (BMX)

I found a number of small problems with my Chironex Spartan 500. The fenders were too small and as a result the mud was getting into the Gas tank and battery compartment and gumming everything up. I replaced them with aluminum home made fenders. Pictures enclosed. I also found that the radiator was very exposed so I made a protective sheild for it. I found that the motor created heat, great in winter but hotter than hell in summer. Used bubble insulation with aluminum backing as an insulator. See pics. This not only cut down the heat but also cut down the noise a bit.
Now that we are back in the winter I am having some problems with the low poping out under heavy load of snow with my snow plow. Anybody have any suggestions before I take it back to the dealer. Thanks
Leslie

Default More pictures on mods on Spartan 500cc

I forgot to mention I also built an insert for the bed so when I put rocks and stuff into it it does not make dents and create paint chips.

Default Low gear pops out under heavy load

Anyone having problems with gear pop out in low. When I am pushing snow with my side by side (Chironex) I have it in Low and in four by four. Every now and then it pops out and this terrible whinning noise comes out of the engine and as it slows down there is a major clang noise and a kick.
Anybody have any ideas, is this in the CVT or is this in the gearbox, if there is a gearbox??
Thanks
Les
