Gorilla products are made in China, and their prices reflect that.
I could have received a Warn winch with my KQ400 as part of last year's Suzuki promotion.
I was all set to go with the Warn. Then I checked it out (the dealer had a stack of the Warn winches on the sales floor).
I was shocked to find that the Warn was also made in China. (Sorry, I don't recall the Warn model number, as it has been almost a year now).
Since both the Gorilla and the Warn 2500# winches were made in China, I went with the Gorilla winch. The Gorilla was only $75 including shipping, and I received an even greater additional discount on my KQ400 from the dealer for skipping the Warn promotion.
The Gorilla winch installation instructions could use improvement.
Overall, I have been impressed with Gorilla products. The winch has worked flawlessly, and the rest of the Gorilla accessories I have purchased have been fine.
The carrying case of the winch accessory and maintenance kits are quality, and the "Gorilla" logo is embroidered--not just painted on.
The tree and tow straps are fine.
The shackles and hooks are a bit "Chinese Cheesy". They work fine, but if I was going on an Alaska or South America quad adventure, they would be replaced with high quality US made units.
I would advise everyone to check the Gorilla.com website frequently. When the the winch accessory kit shows as in stock, try the coupon code again--it just might still work.
$5 is pretty cheap for what you get in the kit, and if the coupon code doesn't work, just delete the order--you're out nothing.
