Default Chain Adjustment on a 1998 Honda 300EX

Just recently got a Honda 300EX. Replaced the chain with a new OEM chain. The chain seems to be kind of loose. Is there some way to get it a little tighter? Rubbing on the chain guard on the bottom.
Thanks
George

Honda has the best, easiest chain adjuster on the market. Loosen the 2 metric allen bolts on the axle carrier, then by the left bolt, you will see some notches in the carrier body.Put the allen wrench in the slot and pull back to tighten, push forward to loosen. You need about 1" or so of play in the chain, because it will tighten up when you sit on it,what seems a little loose with no rider will be nice and tight when you put weight and the swingarm moves a little. Some even recommend setting the tension with a rider on to get it set for your weight, but usually follow the specs in the manual, and you will be fine.
