question 1...what tires should i go with ...been looking at the mud lites and swamp lites

question 2... what size tire do i need..i dont want to go over 26 inches but should i go with 10-12 in front and 12-12 in the back or go with 10-12 all the way around...seems like my local honda dealer only sells them in same sizes all the way around but on the web they come bigger in the rear than front

question 3...i like the ss 108 black...i think they may look good on my camo avt...any other suggestions about what rims to look at...

Clarksville man accused of firing shots toward ATVs - Greene County PA News - www.observer-reporter.com

A Greene County man is accused of firing two shots from a handgun in the direction of four all-terrain vehicles whose riders he was chasing off his property Sunday.

Kenneth G. Ashcraft, 50, of Valley View Drive, Clarksville, is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment, court records show.

State police said he placed Donald Sommovilla, David Ables, Stephen Pierce and James Crawford in danger when he fired the shots while chasing them in his pickup truck about 3:30 p.m.

Ashcraft later told police he fired the shots into the air. He chased them to a field off Piper Road near Marianna, where the four scattered and later called police after determining no one was injured, police stated in the affidavit.

Ashcraft is free on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Larry

I'm currently working on a 2000 Suzuki Quadrunner 300F 4x4 and when I was contacted to work on this machine I found the crankcase to be overfilled with gasoline in the oil. Not a good thing I know, the question I have is after I have drained the oil and changed it twice, cleaned the airfilter because when the oil is mixed with the gas it loses it's viscosity causing it to be pumped out of the crankcase into the airbox. I also cleaned the carburator, thinking that the owner leaving the gas pitcock on may contribute to the float sticking letting gas continuaslly flow into the crankcase. I know that there is a slight possibility that the rings are washed out. The question that I have is after this work, why may I still be getting gas in the crankcase? Why is the bike still smoking while it is being ridden? The machine runs fine without a hesitation, just smokes and gets gas in the oil. Any assistance with this problem would be greatly appriciated. Thanks, Bigg:huh:

So with the temps dipping down into the 30s (except this week....wow, 70s for the last 3...

So with the temps dipping down into the 30s (except this week....wow, 70s for the last 3 days.....looking at 60s most of the next week) our "yard wheeling" has been cut down to short runs and then warm up sessions.

Was ordering some handguards from Rocky Mountain and noticed these cheapy TUSK grip heaters for $20....figuring I wasnt out much I ordered a couple, one for me and one for my boy.

BEST $20 ever spent. They were actually well made, better then I expected. Install was easy and work great. I guess we will see how they hold up but I dont forsee a problem, they seem like solid units.

I just leave em on high while my ATV warms up then flip over to low and ride.....the heat is nice.

My sons LT80 is already running a headlight setup on a stock stator.....so we are testing the limits of the battery with both the headlight and the heaters on (the headlight is 25 watts....the heaters another 25 watts or so). Im guessing any ride consisting of a hour or two with both on would kill the battery.....but hes 8 yrs old so I couple hour ride in the cold and dark is unlikely.

Good stuff, I definitely feel like I got my $20 worth.

Right away I ordered a nicer set for my road bike (Symtec brand, also labeled Dual Star - $35). These have a few advantages over the cheaper TUSK heaters. One being that they do NOT use a resistor to waste power on the low setting like the TUSK heaters.....they actually have two heating grids in each grip panel. They also send take into account the throttle sleeve and use different panels right and left to make sure they heat up the same. Of course on ATVs with a thumb throttle this isnt necessary.

I didnt get the thumb warmer.....didnt think it was necessary at this point.

Just got a new (leftover) 2008 250ex for my son's x-mas present. I have never baught a new quad before and not sure about break-in. The manual says change oil after first 100 miles then every 600 therafter. I find that very hard to believe. I change fluid and filter every 100-200 on my 4 yr old 400ex. So what would you guys suggest? And what would you suggest as the best fluids to run through them. They wont be raced ( at least not on a track ) but mostly trail ridden. Thanks for you thoughts.

So a friend of mind recently purchased a TaoTao asian atv. Its a low quality bike but it does the...

So a friend of mind recently purchased a TaoTao asian atv. Its a low quality bike but it does the trick for him. Its his first time riding and he wanted to start out small so he learns how to drive them. I knew they werent the best quality, but i never knew they were so poorly designed. Every time he rides in the rain or a little water. They airfilter takes in water and bogs the engine. The design was a little cup with a sponge in it, aimed down towards the tires all open. So it was horrible. So we desided to make a custome aluminum airbox and use some hoseing to attach a K&N air filter to the carb. Now considering its a 300cc loncin motor i assumed that i could use a K&N filter from a honda 300ex and just customize the tubing. So we did all that and everything looks great. Problem is we started it up and its not running the best. Engine runs well, air filter is taking in air. However, the exhaust is just back fireing and pushing out the air very hard. Now the exhaust is horrible as well. Its a small 3/4 inch piping wich leaves the back with only a small 1/2 inch pipeing. Could the exhaust itself be the issue. It seems that its having a hard time letting out all the exhaust fumes, and is holding the motor back. Would buying an after market slip on such as fmf or hmf resolve the issue. Were trying to do what ever we can to get this atv to run at its best. Not so its fast or powerful. But so it at least runs nice and is able to handle the terrain a real atv should. Any suggestions or addvice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
