Well with Christmas time coming on quick, and my 4 year old turning into a motorhead, I think a ATV...

Well with Christmas time coming on quick, and my 4 year old turning into a motorhead, I think a ATV is in his future. For starters he's a 4 year old built like a 6 or 7 year old. He's about 4 ft tall and weight close to 45lbs. I'd like to get a good used unit locally (if possible North Alabama) that is 4 stroke. As far as engine size, I'm really not too sure. My wife is all about getting a 47cc 2 stroke, that will be too small in my opinion in 2 or 3 years. He'd look like a duck riding a june bug. I'm thinking maybe a 70, 80, or 90 possibly even a 110? I've been doing some looking around on the internet and from the looks of it, most if not all of them have speed goveners on them and a kill switch right?? I want him to be safe and have the ability to grow with this 4 wheeler as he gets older. My question is, What are some good brands? (I know of Kymco, Eton. What size Engine would you recommend? Any things I should be on the look-out for or to avoid? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

E-Ton DXL 90 Weak Brakes

I just obtained a very nice E-Ton DXL 90 (Sierra) ATV. My son loves riding it, but I'm worried about how weak the front brakes are on it. If it's going down a hill, the front brakes don't come anywhere near stopping the ATV. Even squeezing as hard as I could, I couldn't stop it with the brake lever. My son can't squeeze as hard as me, so he's got no chance to stop it with that brake.

I took the drums off and cleaned them out and adjusted the cables. It didn't make any difference at all.

Is there anything in particular I should be doing to regain braking efficiency? Is this something that only new Drums will fix?

Thanks,

Joe

My daughter’s LT80 starts fine, but when I put weight on the quad, it stalls. I’ve repeated it several times. I’m 175, and when I put about half my weight on the bike, it stalls. If it starts choking out and I take my weight off, it keeps running. Any clues?

We had a strange year and didn't use our quads much at all. None of the bikes even went through a full tank of oil.

My question is this: Can I just top the oil off or should I drain the oil and start from scratch ? The 1/2 tank or so that's in them is from last Fall when I put them away for the Winter.

I use Bel Ray synthetic oil.
TIA,
It has the larger frame, not like a 50cc......and can take on many performance upgrades...The kid is smiling from ear to ear....He is 9yrs old and drives this thing like it was made for him....GO HONDA !!!!! you got my vote:nod:

So what is the general consensis of this bike? I just couldn't find the right bike for my kid around here. She is 8yrs old. 5 foot 100lbs. Started on a BMT50 and out grew that one, rode the hell out of it too.

On the property she puts around on the 250 but obviously it too much to handle. The 90's just didn't seem fast enough without dumping a bunch of cash into the performance package. Not many 150's or anything like this for sale around these parts. So I grabbed this one up for a grand. Seems like a decent machine?
