88 Kawasaki Bayou 185 No Power

Hello,
I have an 88 Kawasaki Bayou 185 that starts up after a couple of pulls on the pull start...

Hello,
I have an 88 Kawasaki Bayou 185 that starts up after a couple of pulls on the pull start with starter fluid and idles, but when you push on the throttle it revs a little and if you hold the trottle it doesn't rev high. If you put it into gear and push the throttle it rides really slow and some times the rpm will go up and down. Would a bad battery cause this problem? It ran but rough when I bought it. The person I bought it from said he had the cam chain changed and rebuild the carburetor. The old plug was wrong and covered with black sut so I changed it to the correct plug and the air filter was a home made one so I bought a new one.

Please help.
Thanks

Starts great, idles fine and if you feather the gas she runs just fine...as a matter of fact it really seems better in every way other than that. I wonder if I should look at the main jet again...every passage was clean That I saw.. She is NOT lacking in power....goes right to the limiter..lol.

The coolant actually starts to boil in the resovouir. Is this a problem with maybe a pump that is supposed to circulate it? Any way to properly diagnose this?

Hi!

Before I start, I know this is Kawasaki's corner, but not much to be found on Arctic Cat's section. Please bear with me...

I'm looking at a Arctic Cat dvx400, PEP +2" A-arms, nerf bars, HMF pipe and few other bits for around $2k. Still on original tires that look good. Poor sod is getting married and soon-to-be wife set ultimatum as "her" or "bike". She won.

He's throwing in a full kit worth $1k.

Any issues I should know of before I lump cash at the Black Hole of Calcutta?

Here's a pic of the scoot & gear @ wickedgear.co.za under classifieds section.

Cheers!

I have a chance to buy a 05 kawasaki brute force 650 4x4 v-twin carburated. Is this a comfortable, reliable quad? I can get it for $2500. Is this a good deal? Being that it is a v-twin does it suck gas like crazy or is it good on gas? Also does it ride hard with the rear swing arm?? My polaris has IRS and i LOVE IT!! It is the nicest rideing quad you will ever drive. My brother has a Arctic Cat 700 efi and he has put about $1500 into it in only about a year just to pay for parts. I have a 05 polaris sportsman and then we have a spare quad.My brother is usually driving the spare cause his is always broke. So this quad is going to be driven when his quad is broke not all the time. Also it will not be beat or hammerd. Is this quad going to be like the Arctic cat? Im sorry for such a long post but i want to get the right info. I didnt do this for the arctic cat and now were stuck with a piece of junk. So please help cause i dont think its going to be for sale for to long at that price. Sincerely, Polaris man with issues
