I've been looking at these tires and I think I'm going to buy them. My swamp is filled with clay and goop. Does anyone have experience with these tires or has anyone seen them being run on another ATV? If anyone has experience, please let me know if you recommend them or not.
I had the same question here and on other sites a few weeks ago. I was looking at the vampires, zillas, and the bearclaw. The replies I got were leaned toward the zillas so I bought them. I don't remember anyone saying anything bad about the vampires except that they are only 4 ply if I remember and a little less puncture resistant.
I like my zillas and the tread looks alot like the vampires Maxxis Zilla

I think it depends on if there is a solid bottom. Most of these aggressive tires seem to dig. They clean better than the Swamplites I had but they do dig. To me they seem to ride smoother when they get up to speed too.

Gah Darnit! >.< The Zillas won't fit my rims =(. Since my ATV is small, not many tires will fit the rims. Thanks for the suggestion though! Those look like great tires and I'm mad that i can't buy them >=(. Well, I guess I'm back to the Vampires -_-. I guess I'll buy the Vampires and see how they work. I just hope they have better mud capabilities than my Swamp Lites.
No, the 589s will not fit on the ATV I am looking to put the tires on. My Ozark 250 is only 2x4 and it comes with small rims. The ITP 589s dont come in the size I would need. That's the one thing I hate about my Ozark, is the small rims >.<
Now when you say they are too aggressive for creeks with sand on the bottom of them, that's what caught my attention. If I drive slowly and keep the throttle to a minumum, would I be able to drive through a small river that has a sandy bottom? In my woods, I have two parts to my trail. One part is on the other side of this small river. The river is about 50 feet wide and it has a sandy bottom. Obviously I have to drive across it. Would these tires make it across with little throttle input? And when you say they do VERY well in mud, what kind of mud do you mean? Wet and watery mud? I have a clayish kind of mud in my swamp. I used to almost make it through every time with my Swamp Lites till they dug ruts. Now I can't get through my the Swamp Lites because they clog up too much with mud/clay. Do you think the Vampires would handle this kind of mud better?
the only thing with the vampires is they are very hard on your axles better plan to buy gorrila axles if you plan to buy vampires also if you cant find tires that fit your rims buy rims and tires.
The thing with aggressive tires are they have a tendency to dig. If you find ones that clean themselves out is the key. When your talking swampy clay type materials, your tires need to be going fast enough to spin the tires fast enough to clean them out. That may be the problem. The 250 will only spin so fast.
