Default HELP PLEASE - POLARIS WHEELS AND TIRES

I am new to the forum. I just got an older ATV....1996 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4. The tires and rims are originals. I am looking to get new ones and am very limited on cash to spend. I was hoping to find something on EBAY, but have had little luck. Can anyone tell me if other manufacturer tires/wheels will fit? How do I know if the rims will be the correct offset for my type of ATV. Any help or site ref. would be greatly appreciated. Currently the fronts are 25x8x12 and the backs are 25x11x10.

Thanks in advance....Brady

There are lots of 12" rims available to fit the front and back. ITP is one of the most poplular brands. With 12" wheels on the back it will be way easier to find tires at a reasonable price. There are dozens of different kinds that will fit.

I was looking at these....

But was told by the guy they would not fit my Sportsman. So I am confused because I wanted to go up to 12inch rims on the back as well and they were from a polaris machine with the same bolt pattern.

Clearance wise I think they will fit, but I think that the older Pol atv's had the 4/4 bolt pattern vs the new 4/156 pattern., keep searchin online. Google what your lookin for and you will find it, research will pay, that's what I have done and I am not a ROCKET SCIENTIST>

Ok I got this response from the ebay seller. Does anyone know if there will be any clearance issues with a sportsman using the rzr wheels?

"One of my techs said RZR wheels & tires will work on an ATV. But the RZR has a deeper offset by about 3/4" on the inside of the wheel. So your studs will stick out further so you need make sure you have enough clearance so the inside of the tire will not rub any moving parts."

Since they will stick out 3/4 of an inch should I get spacers???

Whats wrong with your rims, Cant not think of them off hand but the are still tires made for your 10 " rims and endless choices for your 12" front rims.

Here is a link to ITP Mudlite 25x11-10 tires. http://www.amazon.com/CARLISLE...E-56A308/dp/B000NTHTRA
