when i got my warrior it was already used by my uncle. but i noticed after a while that the back tires are so much smaller in height then the front ones and it looks weird. Now i got new ones, supposedly the same measurement which is 20x10 R9 the front ones are 22x7-10, i hope since they are new it looks better on the Warrior, also they are a dif model of the wheels because they are thicker and more cubelike. Anyway what are the normal sizes of the front and back for a warrior and are the ones i have OKAY?

 

Fronts are 22 x 7 x 9

Rears are 22 x 10 x 9

the warrior will corner better with the 20's on .. you loose some top speed, but gain on the lower end ..


I don't regret getting 22 razr's for mine, but if I had my time back I would have gotten 20's.

what do you mean that the back tires are better at the lower end? what does the 20's have better and not better than the rear 22x7?

 

Ok, here we go:

rear tire size 20 x 10 x 9, just so you are clear on what the size means, 20 is the height/diameter of the tire in inches, 10 is the tire width in inches and 9 is the rim size in inches.

20" Tire benefits:

- smaller sidewall height on the tire means less rollover in corners, therefore better cornering capabilities. Sidewall on a 20" tire is 20"-9"/2 = 5.5". Sidwall height on a 22" tire is 22-9/2 = 6.5"
- smaller circumference is easier to turn, so when you hit the gas, you accellerate faster. That's what I mean by more "bottom end"

20" Tire cons:

- smaller sidewall height means you have less cushion for bumps .. not a lot less, but less. You'll have a slightly rougher ride.
- smaller circumference means the tire has to go around more times for the same speed, therefore your top speed will be lower than with the 22" tires.


22" Tires are better for comfort and for top speed. They also give you better ground clearance than a 20" tire. They don't corner as well and they don't allow your bike to accellerate as hard.


The bottom line is, both tires are fine for the Warrior. Depending on what you want to do with the bike, each tire will have different benefits for that purpose. If you do a lot of fast corners, donuts and such, or if you just want good takeoff when you hit the gas, then a 20" is probably better. If you want more top speed, then get the 22".

All other thigns being equal, with regards to top speed .. the 20" tire will give you about 6mph less top speed than the 22" .. BUT you will more easily reach your top speed because the bike doesn't have to work as hard to get the revs up with the 20".
