If starter button was stuck or shorted It would have startling issues or be stuck on or off but starter button works fine and starts atv.

something is shorted in the brake switch as the starter should NOT engage until the switch is closed. If it closes and starts when you depress the brake there is an issue with the start switch circut I also would start at the switch and go backwards to the brake switch.

The brake also has a safety in it so the unit will not start until the brake is on. So something in the start circuit is shorted or stuck like the start switch.

If it is not turned on and you turn the key on and press the brake, does it start without pressing the starter button?

Your loosing me,
1 turn key on
2 make sure kill switch is in on position
3 depress either brake front or rear
4 engage start button to start
this is the normal start up procedure.
If you have something else going on you have a problem.
what it sounds like you are saying is
1 turn key on
2 KS on
3 when you pull in or depress either brake it cranks and starts
if this is what is happening see my previous post.
