Hey guys if someone could help me get this situated I would appreciate it. The front right tire wont spin. I believe the break it holding that tire in. The front left tire is spinning fine. How do I fix this issue. I am below Novice When it comes to this stuff

 

are you familiar with just a simple brake caliper system? like on your car? same thing. also check out the level of brake fluid in the reservoir.

no, not at all. 2 different systems.

 

quads usually use DOT 4 brake fluid though.

 

when he put it togeather he put the nut on way to tight. It actually damaged the washer pushing it in. This is why the wheel wouldnt turn. Lol had nothing to do with the breaks.

also the front lines dont use break fluid on mine.

 

Hey Jaster, a lot of these smaller Chinese atv's don't have hydraulic brakes. Just the old school cable brakes.

 

Glad you were able to figure out the problem. I was going to tell you to loosen the nut on the brake line until it was completely slack, then re-tighten it. On cable brakes always tighten it until you feel a slight drag on the tire, then back it off about a 1/4 turn. Then use the threaded adjuster on the brake handle to do the fine tuning of the brakes.

 

my bad! i haven't messed with them except a couple of them which were electrical shorts. i haven't ever inspected the brake system on them. i just presumed....won't be long with grandchildren coming along that i'll be getting the kiddie quads for them and keepin them going. so in the meantime, i may grab a couple of them and rebuild'em to learn the ins/outs of the little ones. thanks DFWRusty!
