Default Need Help: Starter button doesn't work, keyfob does

Hello, new to the forum.
My brother in law bought a TaoTao 110F for my niece who is learning to ride. She used it several times over a period of months. One day it died and we could not get it to start. No starter movement at all. Tried the normal stuff like the rear kill switch, battery, etc.
So I figured one of the electrical components got shorted out. I replaced the CDI, the ignition coil and spark plug wire, the Starter Relay Solenoid Switch... nothing. However, today I noticed that I could start it with the keyfob but not the handlebar switch.

I did find the controller box in the rear has one black wire that is hanging loose. It appeared to have some shrink wrap over the end so i think it was connected somewhere and came off. Its the last black wired on the end. Could that affect the starter switch?
Thank you for any help you can give. I hope to have her riding it this Thanksgiving weekend.

that black wire is the antenna for the remote. sounds like the handle bar control is bad.

Thanks Zrock. That helps. I won't waste time trying to hunt down where that goes.

Do you know which wire color coming out of the handle bar starter switch I can use to try to test?

not to sure what color your going to be looking for. Judging that it will start with the fob im thinking it somehow runs back to the control box for the fob so the fob will over ride all other controls. Have you tried unplugging that box and see if it will work? You 110 looks identical to my Gio 110.

With the key on, when you apply the brakes is the brake like coming on? If not, you brake switch is bad which is also the safety to let it start.

Hello,
Did you find out what it was? Our 110 is doing the same thing. Only the remote works.

No I didn't but I suspect the controller box in the rear. For now we are just using the key fob.

Thanks. I was working on ours last night and found that if I hold the brake in it will start using the starter button on the handlebar. I am thinking about disconnecting the remote alarm system now.
