I bought a 2013 Coolster 125cc for my son for Christmas and was running fine and then one day it wont start, the battery is charged, i turn the key on and then nothing happens, I press the start button with the key in the on position and I have nothing, no click sound, nothing. What could this be?

One click when you press the button, faulty starter or solenoid. To check if it is a faulty starter, get a 12v test lamp connect one lead to earth and the other to the wire between solenoid and starter, ignition on, press the start button, if the lamp lights but the starter doesn't turn, you have a faulty starter. If the solenoid clicks once but the lamp doesn't light, faulty solenoid.

If you get a buzz when you press the button, flat battery (or bad connection), or seized engine.

You could always jump the solenoid and if the starter turns, replace solenoid. Verify battery voltage. 13.2 is a properly working battery. 2.2 volts per cell.

How do you know the starter is bad? Did you try and hook it up to a car battery?
