Exclamation GY6 Info needed

I purchased a used Yamoto 150cc ATV a couple days back for my 11 year old son. It came with the GY6 150cc, but it is electric start only and I was wondering if the kick starter was something that could be added. I see all the components needed can be purchased online. I am basically checking to see if anyone has performed this task. Thanks for any and all help!!

I thought all gy6 engines came with a kick starter sticking out the CVT cover?.. Cant imagine why you couldnt buy the parts and install them... Both my Jetmoto and Yamoto 150 have a kick start system...For the record the Yamoto's doesnt engage anymore, the Jetmoto's still works fine...

My 150cc quad doesn't have a kick start. I wish it did, but I suspect a kick start won't be able to go through the required motions in my foot well.

Default GY6 Repair manual

I think I am going to dive into it this weekend and see what there is to it. Does anyone have or know of a link to a GY6 repair manual? That may be helpful to install something that is not currently there. Just a note there is a removable plug in the side cover where the kick starter would come out, so maybe there was one at one time or another.

I had a lot of links to GY6 service manuals but most are now dead links. Here is a link to another link that is still active. It is for a GY6 powered Carter Brothers buggy:

BuggyNews Buggy Forum • View topic - Talon Service Manual at Carter Brothers ( gy6 engine info)!!

I have saved copies of several other GY6 service manuals, but they are too big to attach to any email I can send from home.

Default GY6 Manual

Thanks LynnEdwards for the GY6 manual link. Great manual with a lot of good info. It looks like its going to give me enough info on my Yamoto 150´s engine and trans to be dangerous. Thanks again for all your help!!

No problem, took me a good 3 hours of searching to find it. Figure the least I could do is save someone else the trouble.
