O.k. it took me awhile (because I was skeptical and scared) but I finally convinced myself to at least try the bolt extraction myself and from the looks of the job the studs are screwed in and have a space for the ehaust to go then the rest of the bolt is threaded for the nylon lockbolts that should have been on it.
I am going to try using a left hand drill bit and wd 40 and slowly (take my everloving time) oh! the bit I'm using of course is smaller than the 5/16 bolt that is stuck so that I can stay away from the edges (threads) I was going to a shop but to be honest I have always been the type to try it at least one time on my own. I'll let you all know how it turns out

Hope it all goes well for you, but this is one place you can't afford to have a mistake.

Did you call any of the places just to see how much a bolt extraction would be?

Good luck heritagecon!

Just so you know that bolt/stud is a 8mm not a 5/16...

Those left hand bits are real handy for that purpose. Make sure you are drilling dead center and straight. Sometimes they screw out just with the left hand bit.

Never fails, whenever anything breaks, it always seems to be in the least accessible area.

My efforts were a no go. No one works on taotao. so have to take entire head assy. to machine shop and MAYBE they can drill or buy a new assy. and double sided studs from motopartsmax.com for $96.99 free shipping. will dissassemble and hopefully make it to the machine shop tonight.
