Default Piston / Cylinder Decision

Want to replace the Piston / Cylinder assembly on my grandson's 2007 Panther RX-4 110cc.

Was going to purchase entire engine. The piston was just stuck in the cylinder. Piston not burned. Rings just slightly rusted to cylinder.

Decision is piston size. Ebay has kit. Either 52mm or 54mm but description says kit will fit most 110 cc engines. Measured my piston and cylinder. Digital caliper measures 52.19mm.

I need to purchase the correct kit. Also require gasket kit.

Input greatly appreciated. Kids want to ride the atv.

If the cylinder looks ok and you have it honed(or sanded lightly) you need to get the 52mm kit. If the cylinder if scored from the rusted ring you need to get the 54mm kit and have the cylinder bored and honed to match the larger piston.

As cylinder is in great shape I assume a piston, rings and gaskets are all I will require for this little motor?

Since purchased the quad in this condition I may need cdi and or coil also. Suggestions of test to verify?

That should fix the mechanical side.

Electrical problems are not my strength. Let me look for some threads that may help.

Thanks,

Purchased the piston and gasket kits today.

Shipping will take about 3 days.
