just curious, how do you know the spark plug is OK? are you getting spark or not? if you are, you may try a valve adjustment. if you don't have spark, replace the spark plug, check your kill switches.

ok, now this may sound odd, but i've had this happen before also on a kiddie quad, i changed the spark plug and voila! she fired right up. some kind of phenomena about a double ground within a spark plug. have you tried another spark plug?

Makes sense alright. No didn't put in a new one in yet I should have but just taut with there being a spark it was ok, but what you said kinda making me think now. I will try a new one as soon as I get home this evening. If it I will feel very silly.. I will let you no once I get new plug in..

i'm still studying this phenonema, i don't fully understand it, but i have gone through it and some others have also experienced this. don't feel silly if a $3 spark plug fixes it, i hope it does, in the mean time, troubleshooting will still be the exercise and we'll eliminate issues one at a time.

Default Compression

I’m having this issue too. I put my thumb over the plug hole and it pushed it out but it didn’t feel that strong. I borrowed a compression tester and it read 60psi. I’m pretty sure this is too low to start. I’d check your compression to make sure. If you have spark and fuel it’s gotta be compression.

I put in a new spark plug and it started right up.

If it's one of those cheap chinese gauges, go look for another gauge to test with. I've seen some show 60psi when in reality it's over 90psi.
