hi everyone i have a 110cc loncin quad
and my problem is its running lean as i checked my spark plug and it was white
so i tried adjusting the fuel mixture screw but i dont know whats the right setting ,if i turn it in completely how many times do i turn it out ?
when i turn it out the engine idles down and when i turn it in the engine idles up
so does anyone no the right setting for my quad
also im waiting on a new spacer and o-ring that goes in between the carb and intake
and when i rev it up it backfires

If you have a intake leak this may not help your problem. You will want to get the leak fixed first and then proceed with the adjustment. Running with a intake leak can burn valves and melt pistons.

The adjustments on the outside of the carb are only for idle mixture and idle speed. To adjust the off idle fuel mixture you will need to remove the cap on top of the carb. It is the cap that the throttle cable goes into. Inside is a barrel, pull it out with the throttle cable. You will find on the other side of the barrel a brass needle looking thing. There should be a way to adjust this needle. Usually it is a E or C clip that fits in a groove. You will notice that the needle has quite a few grooves in it for the clip. Note which groove the clip is in, just encase you need to move it back. To richen the mixture you will need to locate the clip so that the needle is higher up and to lean it would need to move farther down.

Here you go:
The mixture screw had been set-up at the factory before shipment and should not have to be reset. Only a small adjustment may be needed due to climate and elevation. If necessary, refer to the adjustment as below:

1. Make sure the air cleaner is clean.
2. make sure the choke lever is OFF while running.
3. Warm the engine up for 3-5 minutes.
4. Turn the mixture screw clockwise until fully closed,
then turn the mixture screw 2 full turns out.
5. Adjust the idling screw until the engine idles EASILY.
6. Turn the mixture screw slightly clockwise and
counterclockwise until the highest engine REVs is obtained.
7. Adjust the idling screw again until the engine idles
EASILY.
8. Repeat step 6 & 7 till you get the best
performance...
*ENGINE IDLES EASILY means:
The engine idling screw must be set correctly to get a
slowest engine idle(1500 rpm - 1600 rpm), but does not
cut out if you press the accelerator quickly.

Cold weather starting will need an additional adjustment to help aid the starting process.

That is for idle mixture adjustment. Not for off idle mixture adjustment.

I have read where they are shipped on the lean side. Probably so that they can pass the smog laws.

The elbow that the carb mounts to should have a paper gasket on the engine side and usually a O-ring gasket on the carb side. They are probably supplying both in a kit.

There is a plasic spacer between the carb and the head, to get access to this you may need to take the plastic fan covers, you need to pry the plastic spacer off the head and slide over the studs, scrap the old gasket off with a razor blade or sharp object and replace with new one and if possable some liquid gasket to ensure no future leaks

Sounds like the throttle is sticking some. Could be in the cable or the slider in the carb.
