Default Will not idle help me runs wide open

I have got the thing to run after fixing the wiring and replacing a valve. It will fire right up but when it starts it runs wide open or real close. It will idle slower when the chock is on but when I take it off it reves way up. When I give it gas there is know difference like it's not hooked up but I can look in the back with the air filter off and see the needle move. Any ideas?

Can you see the slide move up and down also? it should go from almost fully closed to fully open..

My first guess is the carb slide is in 180 degrees from where it should be and the slide cant return to the bottom of its travel(idle position)

The slide only goes about half way down, but it does move up and down. I'm going to remove the gas cable and see if it will move more freely.

Thumbs up

It lives the needle was bent just enough for the slide not to work right. Straightened it up with my fingers and it works great now. I will do a final adjustment tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
