Default How to change / clean Oil-filter on 250cc Chinese quads?

I try my luck in this subforum, as it did not get any results in the Chinese Quads section of the forum.

Someony must know about this?

Anyone have any tips how to do this?

Do i need any new gaskets or something? Pictures or hints on the job?

Thanks!

Its a Barossa 250 twin. With the Honda clone engine.

I didnt see this in the Chinese section..sorry about that..

Does it even have a oil filter? none of mine have a filter but do have a screen....Screen is inside the clutch cover on all of mine....I have never checked it and unless the engine needs to be taken apart Im not planning on doing it..

Yes there is a "screen" inside the clutch cover. Does it not need any cleaning? My engine has about 6500 KMs on it.

The user manual says to clean the screen (filter) every 1000 or 2000 KMs.

Any opinions? And if i should change it, how do i do it and will i need any new gaskets or anything?

I wouldnt sweat it as long as youve been changing your oil some what regularly....Out of all my air cooled 4 strokes Ive only cleaned the XR75's screen, that was about 15 yrs ago when I replaced the clutch plates....From what I remember it didnt need cleaning but I removed it and flushed it with solvent anyway...

Ok, how often do you change the oil?

I change it every 1000 km as my manual tells me to do. And i run 10W40 Motorcycle oil.

Thanks for the reply, i know feel i dont have to worry about the oil "filter" anymore

I run Valvoline 10wt-40 in all my air cooled 4-strokes and change it about every 6 mos to a year...I would guess its about every 25 hrs or so of run time...
