Default Roketa ATV-02 250cc Hard to start

MY Roketa 250cc has started to be very difficult to get started, once started it runs fine and when warmed up starts good, but cold is sometning else. I have raised the throttle needle but it doesn't help much. Also this carb does not have an air/fuel mixture screw, only a idle screw,I have looked it over took it off and can't find one. If its a secret its well hidden.
If someone knows please let me know where its at..Or how they adjust the mixture.

Welcome to the forum jwms3302!

Hard starting is usually caused by valves in need of adjustment...Or a dirty carb...Id start by cleaning the carb...A lot of these engines have the fuel screw sticking out the bottom of the carb, sort in between the float bowl cover.

Thanks for the welcome and the reply. I will take the carb off again and go through it and check the valve lash.
At first it wouldn't start at all and I found that the manifold had a crack in it guess they used old stock when the put this thing togather, its only got 4 hours on it
I replaced the manifold the other day and like I said its hard to start cold..
But for the life of me I can't find an air/fuel screw on the thing ,top bottom or side,I'll check again when I take the thing off and post the results..

OH MY... Its new or fairly new? did you make sure the oring was in the new manifold when you put it on? If it was missing that would cause a vacuum leak which could cause hard starting.

Yes its fairly new a neighbor bought it and after his daughter rode it for about 4 hours,it wouldn't start and he got mad at the thing and sold it to me for 700..Problem being the split manifold, but he must have found the air/fuel screw because it was out about 4 turns.I adjusted it and it seems to start and run fine..Thanks for the help..

Hey my man thks a bunch now, I just met a man that had a 110cc kazuma and told me that I may have made a mistake by buying my taotao because it was chinese, but isn't kazuma chinese. I paid 850 for a 250cc mfg. date 11-2007 beautiful with what is it? a intake gasket missing between the exhaust pipe and the motor/head from what I was told that is an easy fix. his 110cc is used and he is asking me to give him my 250cc and $200 for his 110.

Now! I'll admit that I got a little too excited when I saw the 9y.o. boy go thru all the gears and rev. and did not see any leaks or ovreheating after about 10-15min worth of riding and when I first did not hear any knocking or grinding or see any smoke (except where I mentioned) and seen it start at one push of the button, but to be sure the bike has to be worth more than that!!!!!!!!!!!!

to be honest the 110 is nice and more her size and still has more than enough power, but an atv and $200 everyone pls give good advice my daughter is 11 y.o.
this is for christmas. If I have too many probs I think I'll keep it for myself and find another gift and let her keep riding the 6.5 yerf dog kart.

aka, She doesn't do any hard riding or motocross.

hey man thanks !!!!!!! I don't know a lot about this and I'm trying to learn as much as possible. www.atvguys.com might be able to help alot of people so try them and I think the only thing my bike needs is a cyl. head assy. for a (ata 250e) because where the exhaust bolts up one of the studs broke off in the cyl. head.
now, one guy said to just drill/bore and rethread but it is probably safer to just replace whole cyl. assym. what do you think
