Don't even think about it... There's no need to worry about it at all. Put the hammer down until you're going fast enough... It's that simple




it's a can-am... stuff that throttle and hold on tight- let the cvt do its thing!


curious as to what kind of gas milage you're getting with the 1000- also curious as to how hot the cvt cover gets...



wasn't so crazy about the new look at first, but it is one hell (not H) of a good looking atv

maybe some day

The fan was kicking in and out on a 2.5 hour ride the first day. It's only got 4 hours on it, so it's not yet broken in. Didn't seem too hot on th CVT cover. I was riding in 85 degrees at 7,500 ft and the sun was baking.

Fan kicking on and off is normal.

cool- maybe they finally took care of that overly hot cvt cover issue-

Yea my 2011 800Xxc gets super hot on both sides of the motor. It really sucks riding in the hot weather but should be good when the cooler weather rolls around. This is fine since I mostly boat in the summer time anyways. I am also curious about how hot these 1000s run though.

Default heat issue!

well ive taken the 1000xt through some mud and got it completely plastered could barely tell it was yellow. and it seemed all fine! no heat issues at all id post a pic but i dont know how im relatively new here. and it sounds like your cvt is working perfectly normal! congrats on the purchase!

Congratulations on the purchase. You'll certainly never need more power, unless you're trying to break some land speed record. The way the "rubber band" CVT works is pretty simple. There are two pulleys that make a V that the belt rides in. The more RPM the front pulley receives the more it squeezes the belt, essentially creating a larger diameter pulley for the belt to ride in. The rear pulley opens up making a smaller diameter pulley.
