Default Why should I buy an Outlander Max X2

I am looking into getting another ATV. I am looking at an Outlander Max X2 and the Polaris Sportsman X2. I am trying to get feedback on used ATVs from about 2005 and newer.

Questions:

Why did you buy your X2?
What size engine would you look for?
What do you like best?
What do you like least?

Thanks

Why the 500 X2?

3rd light
rear work lights
winch
alum wheels
only atv with bed or ability to convert to 2nd seat
6 gallan gas tank with over 120 mile range
EBS, ADC and turf mode

Can-Am section here doesn't get much utility talk....try can-amforum.com or can-amtalk.com

I've had an '06 800 from new. We traded 2 to get this as my wife likes to be a passenger more than the driver. I probably wouldn't go back to a single seater. The ride is tremendous and the hill climbing is white-knuckle free with the longer wheel base. I have never gotten high-centered and the tight trail is very infrequent. I have heard the 650 is plenty but I like the bottom-end punch of the 800's.
If you get one, plan on full skids and, depending on the year, better front suspension. I put the Cruthfields on mine and couldn't be happier. Plus you will love the gas mileage. Rode with a 700 Prarie, 400 Arctic Cat, and 300 Honda. The trail riding was very easy. At 78 miles, was only down half a tank. The 700 was flashing and the Arctic Cat was hitting reserve. Now full throttle runs might suck a little more fuel but will still beat carbed models.
I would not own another machine. It handles like a sport quad with racks.

I rode a 2010 and was impressed with the power.

Poor egonomincs and instrumentation and I really don't like a single braking system and what a dumb place to put the ignition key.

Front end is mushy and bottoms out easily and it pushes hard in the corners.

Probably still better than the other 2-ups.

Get the can am, I have owned an 07 x2 deluxe and currently own an 08 650 max xt. While both have some fantastic features, the can am has proven itself to be a more dependable machine. I can give a more detailed comparison later without any bias, other than reliability issues I still liked my polaris x2.
