Unhappy Need help with 2004 Outlander 400

We are going to Colorado in July and I need to re-jet my wife's Outlander. We live in South Carolina and will need to change the jet for altitudes above 8000 ft. Any idea which jet that will be. Also, someone told me to get a K&N filter instead. Anyone able to help. The local dealer doesn't know or doesn't want to trouble with it.

I would look up info on a dyno jet kit, google them. They will sell you a kit that will include a high altitude jet

The 400 comes with a 133.8 main jet.
Purchase a small round mikuni 125
Needle is in the second groove from top of needle.
Lower the needle to the first groove from top
Turn in pilot screw till seated and turn out 2.5 turns
Also use a lower octane fuel - like 85
