I don't think there are any true sport models out there. The only quads I can think of off the top of my head that were two strokes and 4wd were the ones made by Polaris. Xplorer, and Scrambler. You could get either with a 250 or a 400. I think they made the Xplorer 250 2 stroke up until about 2002. Not sure on the Scrambler. I think Polaris even made the 6x6 with a 250 2 stroke at one time. The Scramber with the 400 2 stroke could really move but it wasn't as light as sporty because of the 4wd.

there's no market for'em.

only one's I can think of are the 10 year old scramblers & trail blazers like moose mentioned.

as for them being reliable... good luck.

"light weight" & "4x4" is like asking "is there a boat that flies?"

You didn't mention price range but... A good example of an ATV that feels light even though it weighs 600+ lbs is the can-am renegade 500, 800 or 1000 (top right of your screen) thanks to a 4 stroke Rotax power plant. They are pretty much untouchable as far as power goes. You won't find any new 2 stroke 4x4 atvs - today's 4 stroke motors produce monsterous power and are the most reliable.
If the renegade is a bit out of your reach- i'd recommend you check out the yamaha wolverine 450 4x4. Better than any old 2 stroke 4x4 you'd ever find -way better ride (even with the SRA) and way more reliable than those old scrammys IMHO. The only other "sport utility" that's 4x4 and has an IRS is the renegade. The Rene would leave the wolvy in the dust... And they would both leave the explorer way in the dust!

What kind of riding are you looking to do?

LOL but there still are 4x4s that are lighter than others and I am not looking at going 70 or 80 MPH. I am looking for a ATV that is light enough that I could lift it out of a hole it made in the snow because it got stuck. I don't see the point of having more than 250cc unless you are using it for towing. I mostly go riding for fun and some of the riding is pretty rough and I also go hunting.

If you do not want it to race,or ride fast 90% of the time, steer away from any 2 stoke. They will most likely foul the spark plugs unless you are on the throttle majority of the time. Like beergut said, the 4 strokes are far more advanced today than 10 years ago, even 10 years ago weren't too bad. I dont think anyone makes a NEW 2 stoke anymore. The sport 4x4 atvs will weigh anywhere from 600lbs and less. heavier than 2 stokes, yes. Simply because a 4 stoke engine is heavier, bigger and the extra weight of the 4wd parts.

dry weight:
renegade 614lbs. Canam Renegade Quads | Can-Am USA
scrambler 559 lbs 2012 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 ATV : Overview
arctic cat 450 600 lbs Arctic Cat - XC 450i
yamaha wolverine 450- It wont open the web page
I also agree that the wolverine is a better bike than the scrambler.

fwiw- a 250cc 4 stroke is pretty much an entry level atv. Too small & underpowered for most adults. as for lifting it out of a hole- most 4x4 atv's in the 400 - 800 cc range come with a factory winch to pull you out of a hole. Even the smallest 4x4 atv is going to weigh 400+ lbs, so as far as lifting it out of a hole goes- pretty unlikely (unless you're pretty jacked up) If there's no winch on the atv, you can easily buy one and mount it yourself for under $200 (like a viper 2500)

Have you done much reading on the current 4x4 atv market?
You should really get up to speed about whats out there now before you buy anything- the 4x4 atv market has exploded with new features- it's a totally different market today than it was 7 years ago.

you should really also get a little seat time on a couple newer 4x4 atv's.

you should watch some videos on you tube to get a better idea.

search - atv mudding or something like that.

this video will pretty much sum up how far 4 stroke 4x4 atv'in has come. No 2-strokes in this video!

4x4 4 stroke big bore (650cc - 1000cc)
