Default Honda Rancher 2x4 vs Wolverine 450 4x4

Rancher 2x4 vs Wolverine 4x4 doing mostly trail riding, occasional dune trips. I like what I've heard about the Wolverine, everything but the CVT. I Don't think I will use the 4X4 option much, so the Rancher 2x4 is a possibility. I also like the Honda's manual/auto clutch, price and reliability. What do you think of the Ranchers Suspension? What would you do?

First...both of these will be absolutely terrible duners, so don't expect to much from them in those conditions!!!

I owned a 2wd Rancher 350, and it performed almost as well as a sport quad. The new 420 should be even sweeter! The trouble with 4wd is that it puts the extra weight over the front axle where it does the most harm, and that is what makes the 2wd handle so much better.

But....if you truely don't need 4wd, why not a sport quad???? Both these machines weigh 100+ pounds more than a heavy sport quad. Why saddle yourself with that extra weight and decreased performance???

Maybe I should get a sport quad, the only problem is money. I've given myself a
$5000 limit. It also has to be shared with my wife for now.
