Default "Kajun Mudfest" mud racing, March 13-15, Amite, LA

This was just officially announced, so I wanted to give you the "heads up" on the date and a few of the details that are known so far. More information will be out after the first of the year, as well as a website with all the rules, etc.

The "Kajun Mudfest" will be hosted at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite, Louisiana on the weekend of March 13-15, 2009.

This event will feature 2 side-by-side mud racing pits under the covered arena. We will have ATV and truck classes and even plan activities for the kids, so bring the whole gang!!

Entry and admission fees will be kept reasonable and the cash prize purses sound really good, so I'll let you know that as soon as it is finalized.

RV parking spaces are also available, with over 30 sites with power and water and acres more to park and use generators. The facility has hot showers, locker rooms, etc. - it's top notch!

Like I said, as soon as all the other information is official, I'll be back to let you know!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Default "Kajun Mudfest

Just realized I had not brought you the rest of the information about the event, sorry, but here is some more info. The rules, classes and payouts are listed on the facility's website, www.fparena.com under the event calendar tab.

Racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday, though you're free to arrive on Fri. evening if you wish, until 10 pm. Saturday and Sunday, pit gates will open at Noon. Saturday, racing starts at 7 pm. Sunday, racing starts at 2 pm.

We'll be hosting 3 truck classes and 2 ATV classes (subject to sub-classing, if number of entries warrant). Entry fees are $25 per racer, per day, and includes admission. Pit admission for non-racers is $20 per day or $30 for the weekend. Spectator (non-pit) admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth age 4-12. Ages 3 & under admitted free.

Racers must be 18 or over, or 16-18 may race with NOTARIZED parental permission form (which may be obtained from the arena from 3/5/09 to 3/13/09 in person or by fax - call 985-748-5914 to inquire). No one under 16 may race in this event, sorry.

All classes have cash payouts to 1st through 3rd and 1st place also receives a trophy.

There will be lots of kids' activities, everything from bicycle "racing" in their own mud pit to foot races through their mud pit to a bouncy house and more, so they'll have a good time as well!

Saturday night, we've added the Miss Kajun Mudfest swimsuit competition too! No entry fee, PG-rated suits only (lots of kids around). Winner will receive $100 cash, trophy, and lots of prizes! Just a fun competition, nothing to take too serious, so ladies come have fun with this one!

We're taking RV reservations now, water/power hookup spaces are $30 per night. You can park and run a generator (without water hookup) at no charge. As said before, there are nice shower rooms on site, so camping won't be too primitive! Or, feel free to look into a local hotel as we'll have overnight security.

If you have questions, need directions, want to make those RV reservations, etc., we'll be onsite by 3/5/09, so give us a call there at 985-748-5914.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!!
