i think what they mean by this is the 350. to me, that isnt a raptor, thats just a better looking warrior.

if thumpers are held to 439cc, how do the hondas compete?

Not all raptors are 660cc

All raptors are at least 660cc. The post was referring to the raptor, not the warrior.

Arent there open classes in xc? I used to see raptors all the time in dirtwheels and other atv mags in race photos. They are out there, but they are probably decreasing in number due to the release of the 450's.

The kfx700, predator, and ds have all run xc races, there are classes for atvs over 450cc.

The old limit was 439cc and was just updated to 449 or 450 in the last year so dont get too technical about the actual number.

From stock?? you can always shed 10lbs off of about every quad.......the best way is to stop and look your quad over, and think what you don't need........

like lights and electrical assemblies
cut fenders
lighter rims and tires
heelgaurds
bumpers
different handlebars

You can definately race the Raptor in MX - GNC's have alot of open classes - I raced my Banshee in the Open C class and the Women's B/C classes - my boyfriend raced his Rappy in Open Pro Am and Open A......I'm sure the GNCC's have the same type of classes......

And I agree - the 350 is in NO WAY a Raptor - it's still the Warrior - just not so fugly!

as far as ive seen, its still 439 cc. if they upped it, Yamaha would have brought the yfz450 up to those specs. but its still a 439cc for 2005.
