Default Can you identify this engine ?

It has no numbers anywhere that I can find.

Honda 3 wheeler 200 S ?

I also want to know what I am missing to hook it up.

I need a little help with the wires I think.

From the CDI there are two wires one blue and one green.

From the stator/magneto there are three wires. one red/black one yellow and one green.

I have a frame to put it in and lots of wire and tape

Cannot identify the engine but being chain drive, no range selector, electric starter, or visable reverse id say it probably came off something like a 185, 185s, 200, 200m. It really doesnt matter the only difference is the bore and you cannot tell a difference in performance between a 185 and a 200.

The regulator wires up
green-ground
red-battery (or just to the lights since no electric starter)
match yellow and orange to same color on the stator

If thats a cdi I have never seen one like that all of the ones I've seen look like this

Cool OK got it.

yeah that's what i thought the engine was no that it matters. the CDI is a performance CDI for a honda clone engine (Zongshen)

here is how i wired it and has spark.

ENGINE
blue from top engine to CDI - pulse trigger
green from top engine to CDI - ground
black/red from stator to CDI - ac +
green from stator to ground
yellow from stator to yellow from regulator

CDI
blue - trigger pulse
black - kill sw
red - black/red from stator
green - ground
green - ground
yellow - coil

didn't wire in the regulator I don't have a charging system

engine runs so it's all good.

The frame is the back half of a Giovanni beast 200cc and the front half is Yamaha Big Bear 350cc with and now with a honda 185/200cc engine. no brakes, no lights, no fear... just a throttle and a prayer.

The engine size is stamped on the cylinder underneath the carb. it will say either 180cm3 or 192cm3. It's just in front of the breather hose under the carb..on the pot, not the crankcase...It's from an early 80's (83 or older) but newer than '79 ATC 185, 185s, 200s or 200. Not a 200m, e, es or x. The green/yellow wires coming out of the stator on the engine are for from the lighting coil (to power 12v lights) hence the term lighting coil. The black box is a CDI unit. The cover that says CDI is a cover for a pulse generator that provides correct ignition timing by firing when the pulse generator spun by the camshaft is in line with the pickup under that cover which works in unison with the CDI unit that stores the current from the magneto/stator until a "pulse" is received and then discharges the spark.
