I just bought a 85 200x for 200 bucks only thing it needs is the exhaust is bad at the pipe header junction and carb needs to be cleaned.THe plastics are cracked and so are the fork boots.Needs a new front tire but all in all not too shabby looking,it will be my 1st 3 wheeler ever!

Congrats a 200x is a nice 1st. 3 wheeler sporty with a manual clutch. Plastic from ghdiscount atv on e-bay. I've always taken the fork boots off, I like the look more of the shiny metal that colored plastic. DG and cobra sell a nice exhaust for it also.

It needs to be taken apart and cleaned.I changed the oil, took air filter out it was soo bad it turned to dust and crumbled when I touched it,HAs a brand new UNI on it nowmechanic I bought it from was nice enough to use torch at work and heat up studs to get exhaust off,I'M GONNA SEE IF i CAN HAVE THE PIPE welded or a new 1 made by a muffler shop by me.Tommorow will get rest of carb off and change brake fluid on it.

If you change the brake fluid on the rear brakes they are a B to bleed when you put the fresh stuff in, just a word of caution. It is much easier to bench bleed them than to do it on the bike. Take the resovoir cap off loosen the bleeder screw pump the brake till the fluid is at the bottom of the resovoir just before going all the way out then refill with new and keep doing that till fresh stuff comes out the bleeder much easier than draining and refilling. The carb.s on these old bikes rarely really require a rebuild kit, just a good cleaning by taking all the jets out, float, needle valve cleaning all the passages well with carb. cleaner and going through the jets with a piece of fine wire should do it.

Yeah I got the carb soaking in a gallon of berryman carb clean.Getting the float off I cracked a piece off so I might need a new float but rest of carb was varnished up in the bowl real bad,by tommorow nite I should have it running definately by Friday hopefully.I took all the rubber o rings and plastic off it.Getting the float off was a beech and it was brittle too.

Default 200x

alittle update on my 200x i have cleaned carb, changed oil, plug and air filter. The dg chrome rcm is on the way as is the new grab bar to replace the rusty looking original.I put carb on went to fire it and the carb is spilling over w fuel so I have to screw around w that again it did fire briefly.Good sign there I believe I went to flush the front master cylinder and the screws stripped out, drilled em out and as I was turning screws I busted the plastic cup.Damn I'm looking for a master cylinder dont want to pay 150 bucks for new 1 tho. This is where I stand when I get parts I will move on w it,its been so cold in garage and w work I ahvent been able to diddle w it much.Ride on yall
