Value of '85 Honda 250SX
I've been casually looking at ATC values lately, but I figured I'd ask folks who have a better pulse on them than I do.
Here's the story--I have a 1985 Honda 250SX that I bought brand new in 85. If the ATC has 250miles on it I'd be extremely shocked. Basically I bought it, rode it for a year or so on the weekends, then bought a 4-wheeler and never looked back. The 250SX just kinda sat in the garage/barn its entire life. I went over it a few years back and replaced some misc worn or missing parts with OEM parts (it amazing the small items that you misplace in 25 years), bought new OEM tires for it (kept the originals as well too), etc. It's pretty much 100% now.
Other than a small dent on the tank (which can probably be fixed), the ATC is almost mint. I'm on the fence about selling and if it isn't worth a hill-of-beans I'll just keep it. The only thing it costs is space, and that's not much.
Probably my best bet is to run it on ebay I'd suppose, but it is tough to get a gauge on the price as all you mainly see on there are beat up versions.
So with that said, any ideas on value? I'm sure an ATC collector would love to have it. I probably missed the boat a few years back as I recall them selling for a premium, but again--it was never a priority to sell the ATC.

Thanks. $2K is probably about what I had in mind for an '85. I only wish it was an '87--all of the Honda ATCs that year had really cool colorways. Too bad not many made it to the market.
Ironically enough, I found an old post of mine with me asking the same basic question back in 2005. 5 years later and I'm still on the fence about selling it...

Funny, my buddy just picked one up - literally one hour ago. He paid $60 for it. His is a 85 as well, but as anything that's $60 its rough, and going to be a project.
There are some out there that love this bike, still I would think $2000 is not reality for a 85 model. You could try ebay, try searching the completed auction list to see if any has sold lately, and remember prices are relative to where you live.
Better yet ask the fellows over at the three wheeler world forum for their advice, they could probably give you a better estimate than anyone else around.
