What type of Yamaha ATC do I have here? I just bought it from a friend yesterday for $250 not running. After repairing some electrical problems for 2 hours or so today I got about 3 hours of riding in on it. Its a real smooth ride... and fast too!

SORRY ABOUT THE PICS BEING SIDEWAYS. Droid does... whatever it wants.

My other questions are:
1. What size and type of engine is it?
2. Can I change the oil with mobil 1 (10w30)
3. What type of gear oil?
4. Is there a way to re-title it?

 

That's a YTM225, manufactured from I think '83-'85, or '86. Some models also came w/ reverse. Nice grab for the price, ggod luck w/ it.......

 

Ahh those were the days riding the old ATC's. I loved my 185s and 250sx. Back then a new ATV was around 2 grand vs paying almost 10k for a quad today!

 

Thanks for the info, this thing is a lot of fun in the dirt! I just rode it about three miles tonight to a friend's house. The headlight worked great and it takes bumps so smooth in 4th & 5th. All I need to do is patch a couple cracks in the gas tank so I don't get splashed and re-do the seat and it will be like brand new. So much fun for 200 bucks!
