if the plug is black its running too rich people run anywhere from 20:1 to 32:1 if your plug is black and its loading up your probly gonna have to jet down

that is stock for the 83 and 84... are you at high elevation? if your high in elevation you might have to drop a main jet size. the best way to test the main jet is to hold your wheeler wide open in top gear for at least 5 seconds and shut it off as soon as you let off the throttle then check the color.

its hard to read a new plug sometimes you have to ride it a little while and then do a plug chop. if you type plug color chart in google images you can find some good charts to go by.

i run 20:1 in my trike cuz i do a lot of WOT...you can lean out the mix more if your doing slower riding ... if you don't know anything about this trike maby the carb needs to be cleaned out well?? or a different tank of gas with a fresh oil mix ??? and so on ... go through the basics first and get a better knowledge of it

good info here on the air cooled 250R's Airfoolers.com

TrikeMaster you talk a lot of junk for someone who hasn't given any real tech info .. which leads me to believe that you really don't know that much and think you do or your just like the people your bashing and in denial about it ... people like you are the reason why people leave sights like 3ww,3ww.org ect...because we dont want to hear a self proclaimed "Trike Master" talking stupid crap (like bashing other sights)

that said and done ...if you read deeper into the thread on a 50:1 ratio you'll probably see that its synthetic oil and that riding style plays a big part of how lean you can mix

coming from someone who says he can "most likely" answer any question pertaining to a air cooled 250R (81-84) id figure you would already know this
