Just got a 85 250sx in the shop. Customer says its been sitting for 6 yrs. First thing I found is that its stuck in reverse. Probably parked that way 6yrs ago....
2nd thing is no spark. I'm pretty sure this is due to the fact that it is reverse. I'm pretty familiar with trikes, just not this one(style)...
So, how do i bypass the reverse safety feature so it will fire??
Second, I have power to the key switch, but none coming out of it when u switch it on. Is this b/c of the trike being in reverse????

see if you cant get it out of reverse first. put it on stands and move the tires while you try to shift, or have someone pull you along SLOWLY and try to shift it. just don't go too fast or you might bust it.

Ok, got it out of reverse by removing the stator side, side cover. Found the broken piece. It's #19 in the diagram. Before I did this, I got it to spark by switching the reverse/nuetral wires. It made the trike think it was in N while it was still stuck in reverse. I'll order #19 and it will be on the trails again !!!!!!!

Can't get the diagram to load......#19 is the gear shift arm. The pivot part broke.
