ATC250r swingarm bolt alternative
I have heard that a 400ex swingarm bolt can be used as a replacement for the later year ATC250r's and can be purchased from service Honda for $20. I was curious whether this would work as a replacement for my '83 250r. Any help would be apreciated.
also i was wondering if there were any aftermarket parts still available for this bike, like exhaust and an extended swingarm.
thanks
David

You're not going to find squat for new aftermarket parts other than brakes, clutch plates, cables and things like that. No performance parts any longer for the 81-84. I know this because I have an 81 air cooler myself and have had the same dilemna. Just keep checking ebay....about the only options.
BTW: I'd love to see a pic of that 84 R w/the conversion kit on it...do you still have it? How does it handle?

For OEM parts goto:
BikeBandit.com
They have digital microfiche and listings of all available OEM Parts.
Bikebandit also has aftermarket parts.
The 250R is quite popular for aftermarket parts.
Swingarm:
Click here to download an After Market Swingarm Catalog
You might be able to take the swingarm bolt to a machine shop and see if they can match it up with something. Or maybe even a hardware shop.
Service Honda Website takes you to their online parts catalog and will give you exact dimensions of all your parts (including bolts). That would be very helpful at either of the above shops.
Let me know how you make out.
