'71 atc 90 spark problems, help!
Hi, I recently acquired a '71 honda atc 90 (us90) and it isn't putting out any spark and I just wanted some advice before I start buying parts. The alternator is putting out about 30 volts a/c (not sure if thats too muhc, maybe there is a problem there).
the points look good but with my ohm meter on the green wire and the ground, it appears to be grounded all the time even when there is a gap in the points. I tried disconnecting the green wire since it looks like it the points open when it is supposed to spark and I'm still getting nothing. I want to think its the coil, but if the point wire is shorted, or the alternator is putting out too much voltage, I wouldn't want to burn up a new coil.
Any advice??
Thanks
Danny
