Clutch cable...when to replace?
How do you know for certain if it is time to replace the clutch cable? Or more importantly how do you adjust it down by the motor. My Clymers doesn't really do a very good job of describing it.
The reason I ask is because my lever is really really sloppy, way too much play. And before I took it in to have some work done, it was just right. He said he adjusted it so it would have the recommended amount of play, well now it has way too much play and I can't for the life of me figure out how to tighten it up.
Thanks.

You can adjust it at the case, the lever or both. When you can no longer adjust with the cable that is when you replace it, but you have to make sure it is not the clutch itself that is the problem. If you replace the cable and still can't adjust it right, it might be time for a clutch replacement.
