1982 185 3-wheeler - still no spark
No spark at all. tried another pulse generator pickup and electronic black box from a running 185..no change, no spark.....Tried another spark generator and charging coil assembly(under magneto) no spark...Here's the deal,,maybe both of the spark generator and charging coil assemblies I have are bad......OHM readings on 1000 scale are as follows. On the one that was in it originally when I got it. Red wire to ground reads 600 OHMS.reading across the yellow and green(charging coil) at the wire connector plug 700 OHMS..
The other one I got from a friend Red wire to ground 75 OHMS..reading across the yellow and green wires(charging coil) at the wire connector plug it pegs the meter over to 0..Any thoughts? Suggestions?

have you checked the ignition coil, the one with the spark plug wire coming out of it? Have you tried a good new spark plug?
ohm-check the ignition coil as follows:
one lead on the frame/ground near the coil, usually on the bolt securing it to the frame. the other lead on the small terminal that the small wire plugs into. should have continuity of some sort, not shorted but not open.. if it's either, REPLACE it.
one lead in the spark plug boot, the other on the ground/frame bolt of the coil. Again, should have continuity, higher than the previous measurement, if open or shorted, replace.
also, have you checked the stator coil resistance? my buddy has a 200 that lost spark, and he replaced the stator assembly and it ran again. (the stator is the one underneath the flywheel assy, there are 2 coils, one is the lighting the other is the ignition exciter coil, the lighting one can be bad and it will probably still run.)
check with a manual for the correct ohm spec's.
