no power valve. the only performance differences i know of between the 85 and 86 is the head gasket and carb. everything else seems to be cosmetic or better design to do the same function.

None were ever powervalved and the early year R's 81-84 have the sprockets on the rightside vs 85 up were on the left so you would have to use an older swinger with the aircoolers.

i wonder if you could switing the bearing carrier and axle around on a later year R. the rear caliper would need a bracket fabed up. i dont see where it would be a problem because you have to rig some kind of custom rear braking system anyway. just throwing out ideas.

Will a set of pick up coils from an 80 cr250 work with my 82 250r?
Will the coil and cdi from a 250sx work with my 250r also?

And will all this work together lol.

Another question. How much would this engine go for? 82 250r, Has lots of compression, complete trans and exhaust. No carb, cdi or coil.
Im thinking about going for a larger engine in this buggy. Im beginning to think a larger frame than what I was originally thinking will be appropriate.

if you use a quad swingarm on this thing, it will probly be at least 9 feet long, which equates for a heavy go cart. a better suggestion might be to use some sort of polaris independent rear suspension. i believe polaris uses a chain drive for their diff, you could use the hubs, cv axles and polaris suspension and brakes. and if you put all this together, you lookin at probly a 500 lb machine empty....id say its too much for an r engine of any kind to pull around. youd probly be better off with a larger displacment, chain drive 4 stroke......namley, a raptor or a ds650 engine. or......if you dont mind 2 stroke......get a nice snowmobile engine and attach a pulley to the polaris diff....that would probly pull it the best

Ive already started building a custom axle like I stated before. Im not gonna use that swing arm lol. That would be a horrible design problem on a go-kart. I thought about it but saw too many problems with it.
