I would guess you 're looking at a 1983 Yamaha YTM 200. They made a quite a few variations on this model, and I don't know all of them. I do know they made a YTM 200e, which had electric start, and a YTM 200Dx, which I don't think had electric start, but may have had reverse. Does the one you are looking at have electric start?

I would say you are looking at a Yamaha YTM 200e. I think the "e" model was the only one with the electric start. You can probably find a picture of one to check it against, either somewhere on this site, or elsewhere on the 'net.

Does it look like this?:

The picture is an '85, but I don't THINK they changed that much on them from '83-'85.

I love my EXT, but it needed a few "changes" to make it "better". The major mods are: I wanted a little more rubber on the snow, so I extended the tunnel and put in a 136" skid frame from a '98 AC Powder Special. I'm running a 133" track from a Polaris SKS. While I was in there I moved the heat exchanger to the back of the tunnel. Its got an Aaen pipe and a billet aluminum secondary roller. I've also got a set of high compression heads for trips out west. I'd like to drop/roll the chaincase, but that's for another day. I'll try and post a picture of it sometime in the next week or so. I used to ride about 1200 miles a year right from the house (I lived in a semi-rural northern suburb of St. Paul), but I just bought a house in the city, so I'm a bit concerned about how much riding I'll get to do this year also. That pipe is awfully loud for hot laps around the yard...
