Default 1996 Bearcat 454 sputtering

It's been awhile since I've been on here but ran into an issue with a friends 454 bearcat. I rebuilt the carb for him and it starts right up and idles great, when I give it more throttle it sputters like crazy. The weird thing is when I push down on the rear brake petal it revs up and runs great. I'm certain it has something to do with a brake or switch somewhere, what am I missing? Thanks for the help.

I looked into the bearcat a little more today, if I turn the switch all the way forward so the lights come on it runs completely fine, with the key in the first position it will sputter above idle.

Any luck on finding a solution for this? I have the same issue.

Check the ground wire on the coil. When they first came out we had trouble with the bolt not tight and caused a miss.

After reading this you can probably disregard my previous post. : ) I have a 1998 300 4X4 doing the exact same thing. Have not been able to figure it out yet.

I wish someone could solve this problem cause I'm having similar issues. I have 1998 artic cat that cuts out unless the cooling fan circuit is closed or the break light circuit is closed. Ignition seems to be completing is circuit through these other circuits somehow? ?
