to add to williebee, the button will only work in 4 wheel drive. If you hit the over ride button in 2wd it will not work. At least thats how it works on my 08 700.

So when I'm in four wheel and shift to reverse, the only way to have four wheel in reverse is to push the button?/ Thanks, Guys!

no, you miss under stood. when you lock your bike in 4 wheel drive, you will ALWAYS be in 4 whhel drive, even in reverse. for example, if your in a mud hole or something and you try and reverse out (even in 4wd),your bike will sputter and pop at full throttle, but if you hit the yellow button it will override and give the bike all the power it has and the tires will spin faster to help get you out. Heres what you can do. Get your bike out in your yard and give yourself enough room to reverse for about 60 ft. put your bike in 4wd and reverse at full throttle for a couple seconds, but do NOT hit the yellow button yet. the bike will NOT go very fast and will pop and sputter. Now do it again in 4wd and reverse while pushing the yellow button, the bike will run faster now with the button pushed in. To top it all off,the yellow button only works when the bike is in 4wd and reversing. It does not work in 2wd and reversing. i hope this explains a little better.
