1999 arctic cat 300 4x4 timing marks

According to my manual, there are 5 steps to ensure of when installing the cam shaft.
1) Pistion is at TDC.
2) Camshaft lobes are directed down toward the piston.
3) Camshaft alignment marks parallel to the valve cover mating surface.
**The alignment marks are two little slashes on the end of the shaft where the timing chain connects.
4) Recessed side of the sprocket directed toward the cam lobes.
5) Cam shaft alignment pin and sprocket alignment hole (smallest) are aligned.
