01 arctic cat carb issue
I got a 300 carb on a 250 (not my doing) the manual says I should have a mikuni bst31 well it runs with the Keihin CVK32 thats off the 300 but very rich so instead of me trying to figure out how to make the 300 work I decided I would just buy the right carb, so has anybody had any luck with the jc whitney carbs they show the one for my bike for 111 bucks, which is cheap compared to what the dealer wants I have went to several other sites but they were expensive to and I havent had any luck on ebay either..

thanks for that weez440 I am off work tomorrow and will give that a try. I decided against the jc whitney carb, I have found the right one on ebay just waiting if they except my bid, there asking 200 and i offered 150 thats as high as i will go, and i know if i buy it, the next day there will be the exact same thing for 50 bucks buy it now..lol. but I will try leaning it up a little to get me by till i get the right one..thanks..

According to my manual the Keihin CVK32 carb (used in both 250 and 300) setting for the fuel screw on an AC 250 is 1 3/4 turns out the AC 300 is 2 1/4 turns out. These are for a 2000-2003 AC machines.
So as Weez440 suggested I would try the 1 3/4 setting to lean the air/fuel mixture out. Also, check to make sure you do not have any air leaks around the intake where the carb hooks up or that can make the engine idle and run erratically.
Hope this helps.
