I have several manuals, 89-2000, 2000-2004 and a pdf version for 2006 models and other than a few minor changes like digital instrument pods, plastic styles, front diff lockers and electric 2/4 wheel drive actuators they are very similar on the major components.
I think it depend a lot on your model. I know some place in there the 250 and the 300 had major changes. I Think all of my manuals cover all models made from 250 to the 650 and all styles in between. They have 11 sections each.
I think it will work fine for you. I have used parts of the 2006 manual for my 2003 machines and I have used it on a 98 a well.
