Default 700 EFI Limited Edition Fan Fuse Keeps Blowing

Guys,

I have barely 300 miles on this quad and I have blown 4 fuses for the fan already. I have never really worked the quad to the max yet either, so I see no reason for overheating to be the reason for a blown fuse??? Any ideas on what I could do or has no one else had this problem?

I am pretty sure that if you are in water deep enough the cover the fan and it tries to kick on it is not good. This may cause the fuse to blow.

Second thing would be a short in the wiring harness from a pinched or rubbed wire. Again this would blow the fuse.

Lastly, if the machine is water cooled I believe it may have a thermostat, water pump or low coolant issue. I do not think any of these would cause the fuse to blow though.

Hope that helps

SJ

If you are running your ATV through water and the fan comes on, the water will stop the fan blade from spinning which will blow the fuse. The answer to this problem is to purchase a mini circuit breaker. My fan fuse was 15a and I purchased a mini circuit beaker that automatic resets. Have not had a problem since. Can find these at some NAPA stores, but I did a search on-line and purchased over the internet.
